For the safety of others, and for the full
enjoyment of events at this site in the future, the following rules and regulations
will be strictly enforced. This is a National Park, with historically preserved
structures, owned and operated by the Feds. Failure to abide by their rules
and comply with the Storytellers/ Narrators of "Night...Falls" will
result in expulsion from game, fines, penalties, and a moment alone in the
woods with irate Park Rangers.
CLEAN UP:
Unless you bring a maid with you, everyone is expected to clean up after
themselves. This includes the cabins, the kitchen, and any other area that
you use. The campsite and cabins are subject to inspection ANYTIME by park
officials and NVA staff. Smokers will be provided with containers for their
cigarette butts and matches, USE THEM. The National Park Services will not
hesitate to fine people for misuse of the site. If you see anybody breaching
these rules, report to a Storyteller immediately!
PARKING/VEHICLES:
Parking is allowed only in the designated parking areas. No vehicles
may be parked past the check-in booth. Vehicles that are loading/unloading
food and supplies for the dining hall are permitted to enter the camp one
at a time. Once loading/unloading is completed, all vehicles must be parked
in the designated parking areas.
Remember, parking spaces are very limited, be sure to carpool! All roadways/trails
must be kept clear at all times for access by emergency and service vehicles.
FIRES:
Fires may be built only at designated areas and must be completely out
before departure. Use only fire wood provided or which is brought from out
side the park. Fire wood in the cabin camps is not guaranteed to be available.
Please bring your own firewood into the camp. Collecting fallen and dead
wood is strictly prohibited, these are critters' homes.
Large barrel drum grills are available on a first come, first served basis.
(Rental fee for a grill is $25.00)
WILDLIFE & VEGETATION
Please be aware that the destruction, injury, defacement, removal or
disturbance of any structure, tree, flower, fruit, vegetation, rock or wildlife
is prohibited. Please avoid contact with wildlife, especially raccoons,
and report any sighting of poisonous snakes in visitor use areas. Attaching,
hanging, suspending or securing ropes, chains or wires to structure, trees
or vegetation is prohibited.
PROHIBITIONS:
The following are prohibited in the Cabin Camps:
- No drugs or alcohol
- Hunting
- Weapons of any kind
- Disorderly conduct
- Solicitation
- Removal/rearrangement of furniture/fixtures
- Using tacks, nails or staples on park structures or signs
- Graffiti
- Smoking inside buildings
- Pets
- Kerosene, electric or other types of heaters
- Air conditioning, fans, TVs, etc in sleeping cabins
RULES & REGULATIONS
- Lost and/or found items should be reported to your camp host (Mike
Lehman) or the Visitor Center (703-221-7181)
- Seat belts must be worn in moving vehicles at all times.
- Trailers or RVs may be used in parking lots only. No facilities are available
(hook up, water, dumping, electric)
- Tents may not be erected in the cabin camps.
- The camp is subject to inspection at anytime by National Park Service
personnel.
TRASH DISPOSAL
The park encourages all campers to reduce, wherever possible, the amount
of discardable materials brought into the park. Although recycling bins
are not currently available in the park, we encourage campers to recycle
glass, plastic, cardboard and aluminum.
